Eric Wrenn
Eric Wrenn is a New York-based art director who shapes images, narratives, and visual identities for a range of clients, including fashion brands, major artists, and institutions. The New York Times has described him as "a minimalistic George Lois to Manhattan’s downtown creative set."
He is known for his art-world sensibility and exacting approach to typography and layout. Wrenn served as Design Director at Artforum International, and works closely with curators and art historians. He has designed publications for artists like Bernadette Corporation, Wade Guyton, Glenn Ligon, John Miller, and Seth Price.
He has created iconoclastic campaigns for brands like Bode, Eckhaus Latta, and Martine Rose. Among his notable works is the debut Eckhaus Latta campaign photographed by artist Heji Shin, which featured real-life couples having sex, and which garnered significant press, including coverage in the Daily Mail. Martine Rose asked Wrenn to redesign her logo and direct her first campaign, for which artist Dick Jewell photographed amateur bodybuilders in mundane British settings. Most recently, Wrenn worked with the label Bode to develop their advertising campaigns, redesign their logo, and build their visual identity. In 2024, he oversaw their debut collaboration with Nike, painting the photographs for the advertising campaign himself.
Selected projects: Bode, Martine Rose, Eckhaus Latta, Artists Space, Wade Guyton, Artforum
